Listen y'all. I cannot express my excitement as I was pulling up to a young lady's house today purchasing a five dollar desk I thought would be a small little something for my oldest to use in his bedroom for a desk.
Um, negative. It is way too large for the boy's room. Our two boys share a bedroom & I need something that will double as another use or fold-up easily & store when not in use.
I usually don't search on Marketplace on Facebook but I stepped out & decided to, just to see what I could find. I was looking for two things: 1. A small desk for O (our oldest boy) & 2. A narrow desk for my sewing area in the dining room.
Unfortunately, it is still 9,000 degrees here in Southeast Georgia & there is no air in my studio; yet. Once I'm able to purchase & install an air conditioner, I will. That's a "next year project" though. Soon enough, it'll cool off & I'll have plenty of fresh Fall breeze to work with out there, but for now & honestly, for a place for inside-sewing, I needed an upgrade.
My one year old little Lolly is into everything & what I was using was a console sewing machine that I was given with a piece of plywood & my machine on table with the arm folded out. For the life of me I cannot get this machine to do anything but a basic stitch and am going to have to hire out & have a once-over done. I have maxed out what I know & nothing I knew or learned while trying, worked.
I'm sure by now, you've gathered that I'm not super fancy, I'm more of a practical gal & I'm not trying to impress anyone, so i just need something that will work & I can straighten up and cover when I need to.
I washed up my five dollar find & viola:
Sure, it could use a coat of paint but it's fine for now & moved right in & only sticks out an inch more than what I was looking for. It's not the same style as what I had been looking at but the one I wanted was $130 plus tax & all that jazz.
It's a no brainer for me. I'll take this five dollar find any day. AND, I made a place for O & his Chromebook. Win, win.
